Local Plan Review: Have your say
Posted 14th October 2016
This in an update from the Strategy Planner LDNPA:
"Have your say - Issues for the Local Plan Review to consider:
Many of you will be familiar with the fact we are reviewing Lake District National Park's Local Plan. We use the local plan each time we make a decision on an application for planning permission in the National Park.
We adopted the Core Strategy (Local Plan Part One) in October 2010 but things have changed since it was produced, and we are required to review the local plan every five years.
Please visit our webpage Local Plan Review to see what we have achieved so far, what we are currently working on and what we plan to do in the future.
The local plan will cover issues such as; new housing, the environment, business, farming, tourism, climate change, quarrying, and land for development, and we would like everyone interested in the Lake District's future to tell us how the new local plan should guide future development in the Lake District.
If you have any comments to make, any questions about the Local Plan Review, or would like to discuss some of the issues, please do contact us via email@example.com
We would like to receive your comments by 4pm on 5 December 2016. However, we will arrange further engagement opportunities throughout the review process."
As mentioned in earlier postings our parish representative on the LDNPA Mile MacInnes will no doubt be happy to answer any queries you may have. His contact details can be found at Miles MacInnes.

The LDNPA have created a dedicated webpage for the Local Plan Review which provides information on progress made. The web page is available at Local Plan Review
They have published comments from the early engagement sessions with Parishes at Comments from Parishes. If you wish to respond on current issues or pressures affecting our parish the LDNPA would be happy to hear from you. The following questions may help guide your response:
- Is there pressure for a particular type of development in our Parish that isn't being addressed through current policies?
- Are there any specific issues that need addressing within our Parish, such as environmental protection, renewable energy, community facilities?
- Are there any sites for development in our Parish which you consider acceptable, such as for housing and employment land?
- Do any of the issues you have identified at Parish scale apply to the wider landscape such as National Park / Cumbria scale?
Please send any comments to firstname.lastname@example.org
No doubt our parish representative on the LDNPA Mile MacInnes will be happy to answer any queries you may have. His contact details can be found at Miles MacInnes.
Local Plan Review: Update
Posted 21st May 2016
Please see the original post below dated 24th March 2016 paragraph 2 on this subject.
The LDNPA held engagement events with Parish Councils in April. The issues arising from those events can be seen in the document entitled local_plan_review_20052016.pdf which is available in the Documents Page Section 07.
The LDNPA are now in the process of gathering evidence and commissioning new studies; an activity which they anticipate will take until September this year. The information collated will be used to support the process of revising the existing Local Plan policies and testing new options. The LDNPA will be seeking assistance from parish councils with this in due course through more focussed engagement opportunities.
There will be a dedicated webpage on the Local Plan Review. This is under construction at present and so is not available to view, but when it is live this news item will be updated accordingly.
In the meantime, if you have any further thoughts regarding issues and opportunities, please email email@example.com listing your name, email address, postal address and state that you wish to be notified about future local plan consultations. No doubt our parish representative on the LDNPA Mile MacInnes will be happy to answer any queries you may have. His contact details can be found at Miles MacInnes.
